Disclaimer

What'sMyContract gives you information about contracts. It does not give you legal advice. The difference matters, and this page explains it.

We are not a law firm and we are not your lawyer. Nothing on this site — not the contract analysis, not the Clause Library, not the Guides, not an email reply — is legal advice, and using this site does not create an attorney-client relationship between you and us or anyone else.

The analysis is automated, and automation is fallible

Our contract scan is produced by software, including large language models. It can miss a clause, misread a defined term, mistake the effect of a cross-reference, or state something with confidence that is simply wrong. It does not see side letters, prior negotiations, company policy documents, or anything else that is not in the file you uploaded. Use it to find the parts of your agreement that deserve attention. Do not use it as the basis of a decision you cannot undo.

Contract law is local, and this site is not

Whether a clause is enforceable depends on where you are. Non-compete clauses that are routine in one jurisdiction are void in another; notice periods, statutory minimums and employee protections vary by country and by state, and they change. Our general explanations cannot account for your jurisdiction, your industry's regulation, or the facts of your situation.

Get advice before you act

Before you sign, refuse to sign, resign, terminate, or rely on any clause we describe, consult an attorney licensed in your jurisdiction. If a dispute has already started, do that first and quickly.

No warranty

This site and everything on it is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, anything published here. Our terms of service govern your use of the site.

How our content is made

Our clause explanations and guides are researched from primary sources and drafted with the assistance of large language models, and reviewed by a person before deployment. We say so plainly because we think you should be able to weigh that when you read them. If you find an error, write to [email protected] and we will correct it.

Advertising disclosure

This site carries third-party advertising, including Google AdSense, and offers a paid subscription. Advertisers have no influence over our articles or over what an analysis reports, and we do not accept payment to recommend a clause, a position, or a law firm. Advertising and subscriptions are what keep the Clause Library and the Guides free to read.
